Is health being in good physical shape and being able to resist illness. The medical model views health status as focused on the individual and a biological or disease organ perspective. The public health model views health as a result of the individuals interactions with the social and physical environment. Canada didn"t have public health until 2004. Health: positive concept emphasizing social and peronal resources, as well as physical capabilities world health organization. The di erence was that in 1986 was community based whereas the 1948 one was individualized. In 1986 they added socioeconomic status being higher means better health.
