Attention: the process of focusing on speci c objects while ignoring others, perception system has a limited capacity, visual scanning: Important because only the fovea gives good detail vision. When looking for someone in a crowd, each time you pause on someones face, you are making a xation. When moving your eye from one to another you are making a saccadic eye movement: rapid jerky movement from one xation to the next, we move our eyes about 3 times a second.
