The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA) is a United States Federal Law that states
what a website operator must include in a privacy policy, operators of commercial websites to require
verifiable parental consent to collect information from children under the age of 13 and what
responsibilities an operator has to protect children's privacy and safety online including restrictions on
the marketing to those under 13.
C) How do companies verify the age of online users? (1 marks)
Companies set up warning screens and registration pages that require users to enter a birth date
proving they are of legal drinking age. There is no process to verify suh data’s of online users .
