How do we know that race is a social and cultural construct: race is a by product of cultural beliefs, not biology even though the myth of, the myth prevails that race is a natural category (ascribed) and because of this, biological natural factors plays a role race has a variety of social consequences are marginalized, constructed because there are a set of rules and norms that were created by people with hierarchical position, thus they construct ideas that cohere with race. What are the advantages of historical definitions of race as opposed to the definition based on physical appearance/biology and genetics: the historical definitions of whites is that they are intelligent and beyond other colors, they would have the advantage in society due to racial constructions, whereas the definition based on genetics and such can say otherwise; blacks and whites have the same intelligence level and is solely dependent on their genetic structure.
