A designated branch (bmp) influenced hollywood to make films to support the war and portray the us in a positive light. The propaganda aspect was about the second world war. The film reduces the countries into individual representatives. Isolationism: staying away from political affairs (rick demonstrates this) The western and casablanca have similarities such as the natives of the country. Represented in small roles/absent most of the movie. Famous film directors offered their services to the army by producing documentaries and training videos about the issues of the war. Frank capra created a seven part series called why we fight. Used for educating young soilders about the issues of the war. Combination of great depression and wwii did phyciatric damage.
