The world that geographers study is a "whole" All things are inter-related; some more than others. How things are happening in one world is connected to something happening in another country. The changes in the world in relation to places/regions. Implication: an internationalist outlook (think about the entire world) But the think about the globe in multiple scales. They study the interaction with society and the physical environment. The study where things and why they are where they are in relation to their scales. The geographical scale of human interaction has been increasing overt time and the concentration is globalization. This approach means that humans have to eat and drink before doing anything else. Economic development (the unevenness in relation to resource distribution, politics in countries) The means of existence have to be produced. Social relations (our life depends on the life"s of others) We must preserve nature since we are part of it.
