Document Summary
Although epidemiology is more than often used in phrases in association with illnesses and diseases- it really consists of the study of social determinants and the improvement of one s health and well-being. Chapter 1 discusses the differences between individualized and population levels of health. Individualized primarily focuses on one person and giving and following advice in coherence to the cellular-relevance which will improve the health. In contrast, population level of health targets an entire population by producing factors that do not relate on individual levels. Moreover, trends on graphs show high levels of diseases from people who carry a lower- socioeconomic class and who are ultimately in poverty. U. s are shown to have one of the largest gaps between the rich and poor in healthcare. It consists of policies associated with better health end results only for those who are wealthy.
