The phad is carried from village to village. The pictures on the phad are explained by a dancer/musical performer while the female carries a lamp. Pabu was born two years after their parents were married, but rarely saw his father. Pabu is left by his mother after the age of one and is told that his mother is to return when he is 12. Since pabu was raised in his mother"s lap he is considered to be powerful (his mother is a tiger) The joshi make paintings along with their own paints. Chandur (brother of pabuji) had a dream of pabuji riding a horse. They went to go buy the horse, however were told to wait six months. Lanka so that pabuji could steal them later. Harmal (pabuji"s spy) was sent by pabuji to see the cattle/camel herders in. Harmal was stopped by witches and he thought of a strategy and escaped.
