The egg and the sperm: how science has constructed romance based on stereotypical male-females roles. Why : egg is seen as large and passive, sperm is seen as strong, efficiently powered. Instead of sperm being powerful and choosing to go into egg, there"s a new perspective of the egg being the queen and choosing which sperm gets to go in. Egg is described as: production is inferior, passive, damsel in distress, waiting to be recued, wasteful. Consider various gendered athletes; e. g. homosexual, bisexual, transgendered. Is there any religious influence on the descriptions of the egg and sperm: society always says boys are better than girls at sports but where do trans, bi people fit into this. Sperm fast, intrepid, adventurous, strong, powerful, brave, winner (one who makes it), leader, gutsy. Women as a dangerous and aggressive threat : the femme fatale syndrome women who victimize men is a difficult concept for our society.
