Many theories use cognitive ways to pleasure has moderate effects. Research has said that the lack of pleasure in the initial stages of exercise are unavoidable. This study was designed to manipulate the pleasure-displeasure slope during exercise and see how that effects the remembrance (remembrance utility) how pleasant or displeasing it was. Also looked at predicted utility which would predict how pleasant or unpleasant future workout cycles will be. Both the remembered and predicted utility can be used to determine whether the workout will be repeated.
