Japan had invested heavily into korea because of the close proximity and opportunities of seoul and tokyo . Korea had borrowed a lot of money from japan us to help build the 1988 olympics. Language is now more of a bond than a problem. Both countries were able to learn each others languages and grow mutually because of similarly characters. The us made sure korea was more politically stable, than economically. 2 things korea needed the most was capital and technology.
