Lillian was the one who convinced louis to leave king oliver"s creole jazz band, to pursue a solo career. Joe exploited louis armstrong"s talents and nearly worked him to death. Louis"s money that he made, and he was always encouraging louis to record only white songs like hello dolly and mack the knife. so no, i don"t think joe glaser was a positive influence.
