Animal cells= box shaped, plant cells= more circular, have cell wall and cell membrane. Cells- are fundamental structural units/ building blocks of all organisms. Cells composed of protoplasm that is contained in a membrane. Protoplasm- the essential material of all cells in living organisms. Life depends on it, and arises out of, the continual chemical activities that occur in protoplasm (also called colloidal system) Protoplasm is everything within cell and nucleus, cytoplasm is everything in between cell membrane and nucleus. Colloidal system- a permanent suspension of finely divided particles including large molecules of carbs (sugars/ starches), lipid (fats), proteins (amino acids), and nucleic acids (dna/rna) Molecule= 2 or more atoms stuck together. Mushrooms, yeasts: plantae plants, has chlorophyll, makes own food, has cell wall, anamalia animals, no chlorophyll, no cell wall. There are 2 basic cell types: eukaryotes (true nucleus) (all kingdoms are eukaryotic except monera, prokaryoties (monera only kingdom that is prokaryotic)
