Results are assumed to hold true of the entire population of canadian teens. Sample: mini version of population, a sample is biased when it is not representative, we do not want a biased sample. e. g. only asking (sampling) teenagers form toronto when concerned about canadian teenagers. *questionnaire: practical, cheap, anonymous however results may be dishonest. Scientific method: process of testing ideas about the world. Theory: explanation using an integrated set of principles that organizes observations and predicts behaviors or events. Hypothesis: testable prediction, often implied by a theory. Operational definition: statements of procedures in a research. Replication: repeating a research study with different participants in order to see if the other findings match or are similar to the other participants.
