Document Summary

The eye perceives electromagnetic energy and converts it into neural impulses. Visible light that we are able to see is only a small portion of electromagnetic energy. The wavelength is the distance from the peak of one light or sound wave to the peak of the next. Each colour and sound has a different wavelength. Hue the dimension of colour that is determined by the wavelength of light colors that we see. Intensity the amount of energy in the light waves. Light enters the eye through the cornea which bends the light to provide focus. The iris is a small muscle around the pupil that contracts as light enters and responds to the intensity of light dilates in darkness and contracts in brightness. Iris also responds to emotional states, when you say no or are disgusted the iris contracts. The lens focuses the light rays into an image in a process called accommodation on the retina.
