Principal of transformation that the stimuli & responses created by stimuli are transformed/changed b/w while it is being perceived. We do not see a tree in our eye, we see the light that is being re ected. How the tree is perceived depends on the environment, is it bright outside, foggy, raining. Perceived by the eye cornea at the front and lens behind it. If the eye is not working properly the proximal stimulus will be blurry. Principal of representation - what a person perceives is not based on what is there but what the representations of the stimuli that has been formed on the receptors and the resulting activity in the person"s nervous system. Sensory receptors are cells specialized to respond to environmental energy, e/ a responds to speci c energy. Visual receptors transform light energy into electrical energy b/c of a light sensitive chemical called visual pigment which reacts to light.
