He noted that some are worth more than others because of the value of their souls. While being an eglish philosopher, he is best known today for his work on political philosophy. His famous book leviathon published in 1651 established the foundation for most of western political philosophy. He believed in the right of the individual, equality of man and a liberal interpretation of which leaves people free to do whatever the law does not forbid. His relevance to this course is the fact tthat although he was not around in our time he still seemed to understand modern day and its ideologies.
