Securitization: a world that needs security for public safety. Serves in the interest of power - have the people control themselves: repressive state apparatus. Force kicks in when people refuse to obey and conform to the ideological ways. Could eventually turn into soft control over time. Force made into an example taught to society that this is what happens reproducing ideals. Neoliberalism: political, sociological, and economical influences, helps those with power - tied into corporations and capitalism. Favouring corporations: creates disorder, economic policy, makes the 99% believe that the 1% is helping them when they really are not. Social construction: social institutions that are made by the people, natural vs artificial, coming from social activity. Gender norms - in the economic and social ties. Institutions are part of the social construction and producing them. Hegemony: dominating group getting people to accept that inequality is natural. Massive brainwashing: policing as a hegemonic practice, a type of soft power.
