All are born with honour but it is constantly threatened. Hounour an aspect of integrity and social worth of a family. Because a family had solidarity and was know as a single unit a persons obligation was to the family, and upholding and increasing the honour of the family. This was important because if a person did something unhounorable then the entire family become unhonurable, vice versa. Sexes had different standard they had to meet in order to posses honour. Men had to have manliness, they had to be fierce and have self control. In a women, their up keep of virginity was their honour. This included rape or if loss of virginity was willing. There was the shame of sexuality can be passed down from mother to daughter, whereas the mainlines of man a man can be rebuilt at anytime. A female honour is hard to rebuild as the town will forever remember.
