Women cannot be seen outside their home; easy for them to lose their honour. How society is organized in terms of gender roles and division of labour. Modern society: honour is based in ethics and has a bit to do with prestige. Traditional society: honour can be defined between male and female. Honour is concerned with strength rather than justice. If one family member is dishonourable, the whole family loses their honour (significance) in traditional society, honour has to do with rules and regulations of society. There are specific tasks assigned for males and females and each gender has to do their own tasks. Men cannot do women"s tasks and vice versa. In modern society, honour is referred to prestige and the prestigious people are very well respected in the society: moral economy of the crowd.
