In lecture, it was mentioned that dissenters can be seen as small protestant groups, whom are very important in the idea of modernity. However, in burke they are a major character in which he discusses: The english industrial revolution was powered by religious dissenters. Free churchmen who wouldn"t sign loyalty oaths, Preach within 5 miles of a city. They were flagged as potentially dangerous revolutionary fanatics . They were allowed to be involved in the industries as their jobs. They were dedicated, and pushed to succeed. There schools were dedicated to teaching students what the real world needed . People were then able to move into the manufacturing industries without competition. 1760"s dissenters had a large part in mining. Dissenter engineers created many transportation networks: there engineering created stair case locks .
