Document Summary

Organizational changes will often affect how individuals perceive their core needs, and how they are or will be met. This can be the impetus for resistance: security announcing possible layoffs or downsizing. In addition to the emotional responses to change, many responses are entirely rational and predictable: people perceive a loss of control things being done to them. Behavioral signs of resistance: employees glorify the good old days , employees attitudes appear to be unconcerned or apathetic, employees signal confusion about the change--the impetus for the change, how they fit in after the change, their role. Is the plan moving forward clear: do you feel like you have the ability to perform in the new state, do you feel that the changes have been fair, explain the need for change. Do not attempt to convince them that you are right and they are wrong stay neutral. Gate keepers individuals that control information as a part of their job.
