Poem about human transformation and earth changing and makes you want to compare him to the great poet, virgil. Arrogant apollo brags to little cupid about killing the python. Cupid has a bad temper and shoots apollo with a gold tipped arrow that will make him fall in love with the next person he sees. Cupid then shoots daphne with a lead tipped arrow which makes her resist love. Apollo desperately wants to sleep with daphne because his desire/love is like a burning flame that is only growing. Apollo chases her like a gallic dog chasing a rabbit or a predator chasing his prey and wants to rape daphne.
