What are the three types of microscopy?
Golgi Stain – Stains the Golgi Apparatus
Nissl Stain – Stains the Nissl in between the Myelin
Myelin Sheath Stain – Wraps around the Nissl and protects it.
Brain Structure Scans:
Pneumoencephalography – Xray-like, but can see tissue
Drain Spinal fluid and fill with air.
CAT Scan – Takes xray pics from all angles to make 3d model of brain (bleeding)
MRI – Shoots magnet through head to see brain from half cut.
Brain Function Scans
Single Cell Recording – Scans brain to observe movement of each cell.
Electroencephalography – Studies Sleep patterns – electrodes on head measures surface energy
PET Scans – Pics
