Document Summary

30 blue eyed individuals attending a public high school. Population: entire group that is attempting to be studied. The individuals are parts of a whole in the grand scheme of things. Use the information gained from testing the individuals to draw conclusions about the population. The parameter is the conclusion drawn from the statistics (actual calculated summary) about the population while statistic is the hard calculated data from the sample. Descriptive statistics: summary of the collected data through table, graph, averages or percentages. Is considered the hard data collected from the study of the sample. Inferential statistic: take results from sample and extend them further to the population. The descriptive statistics compile all the data gained from the sample into a way that will be able to explain what was found/concluded from the study. Inferential statistics then takes this and draws conclusions about the population. Note: numerical values can be classified as qualitative if they cant be divided or added.
