Nagel says we can understand how the brain operates, but we will never understand the functions of the brain. We can never really know what it"s like to be a bat. We can never know through science how other people perceive the world. Empathy comes from a place of good but can have negative implications because we are doing what we think someone else needs. What is knowledge: the person believes the statement to be true.
