Document Summary

Just have a good working of understanding on the three claims. The length is about 2-3 paragraphs, maybe half a page. Give a couple points or examples and you will be good. First claim: define language, dialect, characteristics of all languages, symbols are arbitrary, languages are always changing, languages are structural and systematic. Conclusion: apes can be able to learn a language to a certain extent (2-3 years old) and it takes very intensive training and works for them to learn. Innate language capacity, define language, we have some ability that the apes don"t have before the age of puberty. If you learn a language pass the critical period, the innate language doesn"t help you anymore. Having a native is like a prerequisite that help you learn another language in life, this is why we are better than the apes. This is an indirect benefit that we have.
