- The russian revolution occurred in 1917.
- It ended centuries of imperial rule, political, and social changes.
- This revolution lead to the formation of the Soviet Union.
- Russia had industrialized much later than Western Europe.
- When they finally industrialized it brought many social and political changes.

Mohammad Reza Shah
- Mohammad Reza Shah was ruler of Iran in 1970s.
- He believed in the pro westernization movement.
- He sought to bring changes to Iran such as roads
- He came to power after his father was forced to abdicate the throne by the
Allied powers.
