Exam format: the midterm will consist of two parts. The first part will include 10 multiple-choice questions (40/100). In the second part, you will be asked to choose 6 out of 10 ids and write on them (60/100). Please do not bring with you any notes or reading. Identity the social category into which you place yourself and are typically placed by others; not necessarily political ( people who wear bracelets ). Social identity more specific than general identity and often political (lgbt, Ethnicity group affiliation based on social traits that are believed to have been acquired from your ancestry. Not necessarily genetic it is based on the belief that the traits have been acquired through parentage. Fictive kinship: the traits alone don"t make the group; differences between the traits and the traits of other groups are what make the traits important here. Race common inherited and inheritable traits that actually derive from common descent.
