Social groups: size, individuals, organizations, countries, group of two, dyads- mutually dependent, group of three, triads- group holds individual power. It"s not what you know, it"s who you know : connections that we make, gain more power, they put you in the right situation, what you know isn"t the only thing that matters. Two main concepts: nodes, individuals, ties, relationships, strong or weak. Paradox: something that doesn"t seem like its right but it is, the strength of weak ties, weak ties provide you with new information.
