You ask her acquaintances for their evaluations. You see how the person is faring in life. You watch, as directly as you can, what the person actually does. These 4 are called s, i l, and b data: s data: self-judgments. Most frequently used basis for personality assessment. The person tells the psychologist the degree to which they are dominant, friendly, or conscientious. Usually done on a 7 or 9 point scale. Have face value: they are intended to measure what they seem to measure. Causal force: they reflect what you think of yourself: efficacy expectations, self-verification: I (informant) data: judgments by knowledgeable informants about general attributes of the individual"s personality, such as traits.
