Document Summary

Setting= where the research takes place or where the data gets collects. Its hard for nursing research to have this level of control. Population= everyone with the characteristics you"re interested in. The total number of elements that you are interested in studying. Target population= the people that you are interested in studying. Accessible population= the members of the population that we actually have access too. Sampling criteria = a list of criteria that help to determine who is in the study. Increasing sampling criteria increases the validity of research findings. Inclusion criteria: a list of things participants must have. Exclusion criteria: characteristics that you must leave out of a study. A good sample represents the group from which it was drawn. Every member is just as likely to be selected. Heterogeneous : everyone in the sample is different. Sampling is key: a messed up sample will mess up the while study.
