Document Summary

Practice tests for exam 4: a interphase. D g2: during anaphase of mitosis, the sister chromatics move away from each other. If a cell contained 12 chromosomes during interphase, 24 chromosomes would be present during. Anaphase: measurements of the amount of dna per nucleus were taken on a large number of cells from a growing fungus. The measured dna levels ranged from 3 to 6 picograms per nucleus. This nucleus was most likely in the s phase of the cell cycle: during mitotic prophase, the nucleolus disintegrates, the mitotic spindle is organized, the centrioles move apart, & the nuclear envelope disappears. Chromosomes are duplicated in metaphase: replicated chromosomes can be found during metaphase, & not in cytokinesis, telophase, nor g1, prophase. Metaphase i of meiosis: in anaphase i of meiosis, single replicated chromosomes are moving on the spindle towards the poles.
