Ee 2231 electronics lab i experiment #2. Objective: the main goal of this lab was to understand voltage division through the use of potentiometers. Procedure: the first step was to set up a circuit like figure 1a and then measure the voltage at each hourly position of the potentiometer, which adjusts the resistance. For figures 2a and 3a, the circuit was set-up like indicated and the voltage measured when the switch is open and closed. Analysis: for figure 1a we used a 5k potentiometer instead a 10k like we used for all of the other circuits. The rate of voltage change from position to position on the potentiometer is quite linear, where the only deviance from that line would be due to human error, in not adjusting to the exact position on the potentiometer.
