All scientific claims must be backed by evidence. Evidence helps us decide which hypothesis is the best explanation. Used because they: cost less, have shorter life spans, we know a lot about them, they"re easier to work with. Care should be taken when drawing conclusions: if you don"t share with people it doesn"t help. Peer review- scientist review, ask questions, and critique. Could get different results: science and society support each other. Swine flu used science with society to relay messages correctly: the entire process is self feeding and always changing.
