Hippocrates believed epilepsy was caused by too much flem in the brain. Conducted many dissections to expand knowledge of anatomy. Developed theories on medicine and physiology that remained dominant for well over 1000 years. Operated on a pig squealing and would cut their vocal cord so that they would stop squealing this proved that the vocal cord controlled sounds. Saw a return to supernatural explanations (god was punishing) Renaissance period saw a return to the scientific approach.
