Robber barons: robbing from the working people and taking all the profits; the 1 percenter. Division of labor; less pay journeymen group together to defend their livelihood. Upward cycle (boom): rapid growth of companies; wages stay the same. Downward cycle (bust): recessions and depressions; layoffs and wage cuts. Govt gave grants, implemented tariffs; militias and injunctions. Govt stayed away from trusts, siding with unions, price-setting, regulation.
