Who"s most susceptible to the misinformation effect and what is the misinformation effect. Misinformation effect occurs when incorrect information is obtained after an event and it contaminates our memory. Although young adults are susceptible to the misinformation effect, children and older adults are the most susceptible. Early study of eyewitness testimony- undergrad participants watched a slideshow depicting a car hitting a pedestrian. Some participants were then asked how fast was the car travelling when it passed the yield sign before hitting the pedestrian, however it was a stop sign that was shown in the slideshow.
