Remember: the senses: touch, taste, smell, hearing, sight, balance, kinesthesia (movement), proprioception (limb placement) stimulus energy sensory receptors neural brain sensation perception. The visual image (leaf, sun, light, etc) goes through the lense to the back of the eye and travels through the optic nerve. Retina: part of the back of the eye that contains a large amount of neurons (light sensitive) Fovea: part of the retina that contains different cones and rods. Rods: see blacks, greys, and whites during dim lights. When light goes through different visual fields it goes through both eyes, but only shows up on part of the eye/half of the eye. Sensation happens very fast; faster than perception. Bottom-up processing: analysis that starts from the bottom (sensations) and works its way to the top.
