The inability to fall asleep or stay asleep. Altered states of consciousness brought on by techniques of suggestion that can change behavior. Muscle paralysis occurs and the victim collapses when switch occurs. Manifest vs latent content--manifest content being an object in a dream, and latent content being the meaning of that object. Babies require more rem sleep than adults, so the amount of time in rem sleep goes down over time.
