Benefits of being recognized as a profession: more , sharing more knowledge, more efficient, same service can be expected, creates some dependency. Components of a profession: alliance with a social concern, professional societies and associations, code of ethics, specialized body of knowledge and practical skills, program of professional education and training, standards of accreditation, certification, and licensing.
