Aristotle is the father of political science. Four core values central to, form basis of, and define u. s. political culture. Four theories of origin of states: force: person or group of people takes control by force and forces all within the territory to submit to rule, evolutionary: developed naturally out of primitive families. Two possibilities and two sub possibilities: dictatorship: only one person or a few people make all the decisions, democracy: many of the people share in decision making. Direct: all eligible people in society participate/vote. Representative: eligible people select representatives to make major governmental decisions. Code of hammurabi: the code provided a fair administration of justice, eye for an eye, laws should be written down to be fairer, provided model for future constitutions. Magna carta: limited the power of the monarchy, intended for privileged classes, trial by jury and due process of law, concept of limited government.
