Cultural logic: body image among nacirema, eduardo"s mesa. Certain pracices may seem illogical or senseless when considered in isolaion, but appear logical when considered in relaion to other pracices. What do we need to know in order to understand why the nacirema supplicant entering the laipso temple is stripped of all his or her clothes: go to a temple called laipso to be examined. Doctors (medicine men) and nurses are difereniated by their clothing in order to establish a hierarchy. No pracical reason why they have to wear diferent clothing and why paients wear hospital gowns need to establish an understanding of hierarchy in order to understand the clothing. In relaion to what other cultural pracices does this pracice make sense: even if they go in and don"t get healed, people sill keep on going even with staisics of death rates. People keep going because there"s an idea of where you should go if you"re sick.
