Intensity of sunlight on earth varies- because earth is spherical; angle of sun"s rays are. Higher at the equator; same amount of sunlight more concentrated and decreased distance. Effect of light intensity on rain- wetness intenses sunlight at equator; sun heats air at the equator warm air rises cools and rains dires and back to warm air b/c of pressure. Hadley circulation- in the tropics; moist air rises, expands and cools, drops its moisture, and flows poleward. The now cool, dry air sinks under high atmospheric pressure, making latitudes of 30. N and 30 s dry makes deserts.
