Attraction is proportional to the product of the two masses. Attraction is inversely proportional to the square of the distance in between the two masses. This means, the more massive the two objects are, the stronger their force of attraction. Attractive force decreases the further the two objects are apart obeying an inverse square law. Ex: an object at 2x the normal distance will experience a force of attraction only a fourth of the normal force. Newton revised kepler"s third law to combine with his law of universal gravitation. 2 is the same for all the planets in the solar system. Newton showed that the value of p2 a3 because the mass of the sun is so much more than the masses of any of the individual planets. And so newton proved that the ratio was a constant. An orbit can be changed by adding energy.
