Humans are born selfish and most seek spiritual rebirth. Example- parents put me in ccd classes as a child and had me baptized and confirmed. Developmental outcomes, both good and bad, result from each individuals struggle to overcome an inborn tendency to act immorally when doing so somehow benefits the self. Humans are created when they grow up- humans are born neutral. Children are positive recipients of environmental experiences. Example- bad kids have bad parents and were raised that way. Humans possess no innate tendencies and that all differences among humans are attributable to experience. Emphasis on children and basic goodness of human nature. Were all naturally good and seek out experiences to help us grow. Children need only nurturing and protection to reach their full potential. Example - children can do no harm, and are perfect. Charles darwin - first organized the study of human development.
