In the news, lately due to infection from zika virus: babies with microcephaly can have a range of other problems, depending on how sever their microcephaly is. Causes the brain to be much more smaller than typical sizes. Micocephaly has been linked to the following problems: Intellectual disability ( decreased ability : seizures, developmental delay, ( look at slides), anencephaly ( video shown in class, 2 years, and he is still continuing, baby takes 12 medications daily. Especially for seizures: he cannot see, nor hear anything. Ba(cid:271)(cid:455) did(cid:374)(cid:859)t g(cid:396)o(cid:449) a (cid:271)(cid:396)ai(cid:374), just a (cid:271)(cid:396)ai(cid:374) stem. Give rise to the controls of our bodies, give rise to connections of our thoughts, emotions, etc: sensory neurons, designed to detect stuff in the environment and take the information to the brain. Interneurons: receive information form sensory neurons and process the information.
