Most common method for measuring sexuality (attitudes people have about sex, sexual behaviors, etc. ) Participants are asked questions about their sexual behavior. May not be aware of their own behaviors. Direct observation: observe people in their natural environment and record data. I. e. sm research to observe behavior they visited sm parities and observed behaviors, contact with other people, communication, etc. Eye tracking: measures point of gaze over time (i. e. how much time people spend staring at certain body parts) More objective ways to measure what people are doing. Have people make timed associations instead of relying on their own, potentially biased self reports. Genital measures: erection, vaginal changes: i. e. measure how aroused people become when looking at sexy images. Fmri (functional magnetic resonance imaging): measures brain activity via blood flow: show them pictures, videos, etc. to see what happens with brain activity.
