Document Summary

Explain what that philosopher"s views are and why you like them. The philosopher whose views i find the most compelling would be epicurus. Epicurus believes that in order to achieve happiness and pleasure, one must be free of anxiety, fear, and pain. In order to do so, he states a four-part cure to follow to achieve tranquility and be free of pain. His first part of the cure is to not fear the gods, or essentially, do not worry about other bad things that might happen. His second part tells one to not worry about death, because fate is not something you can control and by not worrying about things we cannot control, we ease our anxiety about life. In the third part of the cure, he embraces simplicity by stating that what is good is easy to get and that one should form preferences for the simple life and enjoy what one has.
