forms of art. i.e noise that revokies riot

futurists perceived the world is in a constant movement
ii. Dadaism → Hannah Hoch

social protest. Anti-behavioral forms as a negation of dominant
meaning.
2. Idea of negation: undermining the values that is associated with
that thing originally
3. Consisted of artists who rejected the logic, reason, and aesthetics
of modern capitalist society. Instead, they express nonsense,
irrationality. Because viewed reason and logic as reason to war
4. Hugo Ball. Read poems in nonsense language which mirrors the
futurist (F.T Marinetti) Zang Tumb Tumb. futurists were extreme
nationalists, but dada like Hugo Ball are anti-nationalists, which is
why they fled the country in the first place
b. Form
i. Carra
1. Vibrant color, an attempt to gain mass attention. Purposely differs
from the traditional styles of art
2. Evokes phenomenon of mass demonstration. Using pieces of
advertisement, newspaper.
3. Inspired by Vortex like spinning leaflets dropped from airplane
over Piazza del Duomo of Milan
ii. Hoch
1. Gathered images and text from popular forms of media
(newspaper, magazines) and combined them in uncanny ways
2. The power of work came from the intentional dismemberment and
reconstruction of the images. Alludes to the notion that current
issues can be viewed through different lenses
3. Lots of industrialized objects. Linked to the political movement.
